they’re all such traditionalists, my family. they demand green bean casserole (yes, with cream-of-something-soup), and my grandma’s sweet potato casserole, and canned cranberry sauce, and potato casserole made with boxed flakes. and every year we make those things, because they are tied via flavor and scent to memories and moments.
there’s something to be said for tradition, and there’s something to be said for mixing things up! i think i just might put this on the menu this year. it’s not far from what i’ve made in years past… and it looks divine simple!
